TDC #276: Gratitude

Jennifer and Lisa

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, during MouseFest 2009

It’s December! Which means that one of the things Jennifer is grateful for is finally being able to use the Epcot Christmas background music on the podcast again! Plus we talk about lots of Disney things we’re grateful for. And ham, a little bit.

Jennifer’s written about quite a few Cast Members in her Jentasmic! column at Studios Central:

TDC #231: Hopes for 2013

Sign for many items, including "Frozen Drink."

In 2013, Jennifer hopes never to order something so vaguely-named as “Frozen Drink.”

We have lots of things we hope and plan to do in 2013! We discuss them.

A couple related links:

  • The ConnectiCon convention, where you can meet Jim Cummings, the voice of Darkwing Duck and many others
  • That Guy with the Glasses, home of Nostalgia Critic and Nostalgia Chick, and many many other members of Team Awesome. They review Disney stuff here and there, but Jennifer’s personal favorite is the review of Baby Whatever.

TDC #209: Solo Trips

Mickey and Jennifer

Jennifer getting a little one-on-one time with the Mouse at Disneyland, January 2011.

If all goes as planned, by the time you’re reading this Jennifer will be at Walt Disney World for an impromptu, planned-on-short-notice solo trip! So of course we end up talking about chicken and waffles for at least 5 minutes.

Jennifer’s looked at the waffle sandwiches posted on Andy’s blog, and thinks the fruit one looks kinda nice, but still can’t get past the whole syrup-on-chicken issue. Will she try one on this trip? Only time will tell.

And all that talk during the show about how Jennifer will have nobody to hang out with for her whole trip? Well yeah . . . as she’s writing these show notes, she’s already got plans to get together with a friend one evening, and might even record a podcast episode with her. Thank you, internets!

If you’re going to be at Disneyland August 3-5, 2012, check out the Friends of the Magic Meet! We can’t be there ourselves, but we’ve donated Mickey Mouse chocolate bars.

TDC #157: POTC 4, On Stranger Tides

DLRP Pirates

One of Jennifer's favorite Pirate locations, near Disneyland Paris' Pirates of the Caribbean

Stranger indeed! The Watchamacallit joins us for a review of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean movie, complete with discussion of Blandy McBlanderson and his fishy girlfriend.

TDC #151: Lemonade Mouth

Given their fondness for the High School Musical franchise, Jennifer and the Watchamacallit were absolutely not gonna miss Lemonade Mouth! And now they share their thoughts with you.

Jennifer’s also recently reviewed Lemonade Mouth in her Jentasmic! column on Studios Central. And if you’d like to learn more about Hayley Kiyoko, who plays our favorite character Stella, head on over to Racialicious, which gave Jennifer the heads up on this move in the first place.

Jennifer’s thinking that Lemonade Mouth, the book on which this movie was based, might be a good choice for some future round of the Those Darn Cats book club. What do you think? Drop us a note!

And for anyone who worries that the Watchamacallit may have a warped understanding of the beginning of the United States’ involvement in World War II, you really need to watch Animal House. But this would do, for a start:

Bluto’s right. Psychotic, but right.
