Jennifer reports back on Anime Boston 2014, where she and Constantine presented Cheer Up Emo Kid: Anime That Makes You Happy. She also talks a bit about the upcoming PAX East, and this summer’s ConnectiCon 2014. Spoiler: If you wanna see Jennifer at ConnectiCon, you gotta be there Friday!
So many things on our mind this week!
- Deb Wills’ photos from Asia, which you can see on her Twitter feed. Here’s one of Jennifer’s favorites.
- The movie Frozen, which Jennifer finally saw.
- The Mickey Milers running team, which Jennifer has joined, and is working on convincing Lisa to join too!
- A moving story of an autistic boy whose parents and health care professionals capitalize on his affinity for Disney movies, with remarkable results.
The first 33 seconds of that video are the best part of Leroy and Stitch. Trust us on this.
This week, we talk about the plethora of Stitch-Based Entertainment (SBE): Lilo and Stitch; Stitch! The Movie; Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch; and Leroy and Stitch. Jennifer watched them ALL in the first few days of 2014. This is a higher concentration of SBE than we can recommend.
It’s December! Which means that one of the things Jennifer is grateful for is finally being able to use the Epcot Christmas background music on the podcast again! Plus we talk about lots of Disney things we’re grateful for. And ham, a little bit.
Jennifer took one for the team, and despite all the bad reviews watched the controversial film Escape from Tomorrow, which was shot at Walt Disney World and Disneyland without permission from Disney. Don’t listen to this show with the kids.
We also announce a Those Darn Cats meet: Saturday, December 7, at 2:00pm we shall gather at the Main Street Bakery to say fuck Coffeemate, and welcome our new Starbucks overlords.
We talk a little bit too about Jennifer’s RFID-blocking duct tape wallet, which she’s blogged about over at Broke Hoedown (pics are at that link).
